Why Ahrefs data matters for your agent
Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools only report on properties you have verified. Ahrefs indexes the whole web, so your agent can run the same analysis on a competitor, an acquisition target, or a link prospect you have never touched.

Yes. This connector uses an API key from your own Ahrefs workspace, so you need an Ahrefs plan that includes API access. SourcetoMCP doesn't resell Ahrefs data, and there's no pooled account behind this.
Ahrefs charges API units, taken from the monthly allowance already included in your plan. Most requests cost a minimum of 50 units and more for larger result sets. Every query through SourcetoMCP reports exactly what it spent, and one free operation shows your remaining balance any time you ask.
No. You paste an API key you create yourself under Account settings, API keys in Ahrefs. Delete it there to revoke access. Ahrefs keys expire a year after you create them, and only workspace owners and admins can generate one.
No. All 17 operations are read-only. Nothing your agent does through this connector creates, edits or deletes anything in Ahrefs.
Search Console reports real measured clicks and impressions, but only for properties you've verified. Ahrefs estimates that same picture for any domain on the web and adds backlinks, keyword difficulty and competitor analysis, none of which Search Console has an equivalent for. Most teams connect both and use each for what it's actually good at.
