Claude for Marketing: 10 Workflows Using Your Campaign Data

Published October 4, 2026 · Written by Aanart

You can use Claude for marketing to analyse campaign results, find SEO opportunities and prepare reports. Connect your marketing accounts, and you can ask questions about the campaigns, pages and keywords your business actually uses.

SourcetoMCP connects Claude to sources including Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, TikTok Ads, Pinterest and Ahrefs. It also connects to selected Google Sheets, Docs and Slides files, so you can take an analysis through to an updated report.

The ten workflows below include prompts you can adapt to your accounts. Start with one source and a question you already answer regularly, such as which campaigns lost conversions last week.

Connect your marketing accounts to Claude

Claude uses connectors to access external tools through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP. You add SourcetoMCP as a custom connector, then authorise access to your SourcetoMCP account. Anthropic documents this process in its custom connector guide.

In SourcetoMCP, create your brand and connect the accounts you want Claude to use. Open Connect an agent to get the server address and connection instructions. For a walkthrough, follow the guide to connecting Google Ads to Claude.

For Sheets, Docs and Slides, select the individual files you want to make available.

Give Claude the business context before your first analysis. Include your brand, account, reporting currency, target market and conversion goal. A purchase, a lead and a newsletter signup have different values, even when a report calls all three “conversions”.

You can start the conversation with this instruction:

Use the connected accounts for [brand]. Our main goal is [goal], and our reporting currency is [currency]. State the source and date range for every report. Separate findings supported by the data from explanations that need investigation. Flag incomplete results. For now, analyse and recommend changes only.

Review your Google Ads performance each week

Ask Claude to compare two complete weeks and explain the largest changes in spend, conversions and conversion value. SourcetoMCP supports campaign reporting and account change history, so Claude can also look for recent edits that coincide with a performance change.

Compare the last complete week with the previous week for my Google Ads account. Show spend, clicks, conversions, cost per conversion and conversion value by campaign. Rank the largest changes by business impact. Check change history for relevant budget, bidding or status changes, and distinguish possible explanations from confirmed findings.

The useful output is a short list of campaigns to investigate, with the numbers behind each recommendation.

For a hypothetical example, a campaign spending $1,000 for 50 conversions has a $20 cost per conversion. If the next week records $1,200 and 40 conversions, that cost rises to $30. Spend increased 20%, conversions fell 20%, and cost per conversion increased 50%. Ask Claude to explain these relationships rather than reporting each percentage in isolation.

Find negative keyword candidates

Your search terms report shows the queries that triggered your ads. Claude can review those queries against your offer and identify terms worth excluding.

Review the last 30 days of Google Ads search terms for [campaign]. Our offer is [description], and we do not serve [excluded products, services or locations]. Find irrelevant queries with spend. Show the query, campaign, ad group, clicks, cost and conversions. Suggest a negative keyword and match type for each candidate. Wait for my review before adding anything.

A query with no conversions deserves investigation, but relevance, sample size and conversion delay affect the decision. Ask Claude to explain why each proposed exclusion fits your business.

SourcetoMCP supports adding negative keywords after you have reviewed the proposal. The Google Ads connector page describes the reporting and editing actions available.

Review where your Google Ads budget goes

Use Claude to compare campaign efficiency and prepare a budget proposal. Give it your commercial constraints, including minimum budgets for campaigns serving a specific purpose.

Review the last 30 complete days of campaign spend, conversions and conversion value. Compare performance with our target of [target CPA or ROAS]. Propose budget changes while keeping the overall daily allocation unchanged. Show the current and proposed amounts, identify shared budgets, and explain the evidence for each change. Leave the account unchanged until I approve the proposal.

Ask Claude to separate campaigns with different objectives. Brand search, prospecting and remarketing can produce different results because they reach different audiences.

The report should show the trade-off behind each recommendation. Historical performance provides evidence for a decision, but it cannot establish how many additional conversions a larger budget will produce.

Find SEO queries worth investigating

Google Search Console can show where your site already receives impressions and clicks. Claude can use this data to identify query and page combinations that deserve a closer look.

Using Search Console, review the latest 28 complete days for [site] in [country]. Find query and page combinations with at least 100 impressions and an average position between 4 and 15. Show clicks, impressions, CTR and position. Group related queries and suggest which pages I should review first.

The thresholds are a starting point. Adjust them for your site's traffic.

Before asking Claude to rewrite a title or recommend new page copy, supply the current content. Search performance shows how a page appeared in search. It does not provide the page's full text.

Follow the Search Console connection guide to set up this workflow.

Identify pages losing organic traffic

A period comparison helps you find pages whose search performance has weakened. Ask Claude to examine clicks alongside impressions and position so the report distinguishes different kinds of decline.

Compare the latest 28 complete days with the previous 28 days in Search Console. Rank pages by the largest absolute loss of clicks. For the top ten, show changes in impressions, CTR and average position, then examine the queries contributing to the decline. Flag low-volume pages and possible seasonal effects.

A page losing impressions presents a different question from one maintaining impressions while receiving fewer clicks. The first calls for investigating demand and visibility. The second calls for examining query mix, rankings and how the page appears in search.

Ask for an investigation plan grounded in the returned data. A performance report alone cannot establish the cause of every decline.

Research competitor keywords with Ahrefs

Ahrefs adds keyword and competitor data beyond the sites you own. Claude can compare returned keyword sets and prepare a list of content opportunities for review.

Use Ahrefs to compare [our domain] with [competitor one] and [competitor two] in [country]. Check the available API allowance first. Start with up to 25 organic keywords per domain. Identify candidate gaps in those results and show the competing page, position, search volume and difficulty. Prioritise relevance to [our product]. State the limits of this sample and report the API units used.

A keyword missing from a limited result set does not prove your domain has no ranking for it. Ask Claude to verify promising candidates before turning them into a content plan.

Ahrefs reads consume units from your connected account. The Ahrefs connection guide explains the account requirements and usage costs.

Explain changes in website traffic with GA4

Google Analytics helps you examine what visitors did after arriving on your website. Claude can compare acquisition sources, engagement and recorded business outcomes.

Compare the last complete month with the previous month in GA4. Break down sessions, engaged sessions, key-event counts and total revenue by channel and source. Identify the largest changes. Investigate the relevant landing pages and explain which findings need more data before we act.

Define the key events that matter to your business before interpreting the results. A rise in sessions can have a different meaning from a rise in purchases or qualified enquiries.

When comparing GA4 with an advertising platform, ask Claude to state each source's attribution basis. Different reporting definitions can produce different conversion totals.

Compare TikTok ad creative performance

Claude can review TikTok ads using performance and video-engagement metrics. This helps you decide which ads need further testing and which deserve closer investigation.

Review TikTok ad performance for the latest 14 complete days. Compare ads within the same campaign objective. Show spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and available video-completion metrics. Identify ads worth testing further and ads needing investigation. Flag results with too little delivery to support a decision.

Separate delivery performance from creative interpretation. The report can show that an ad received clicks or that viewers stopped watching early. To assess its opening line, imagery or offer, give Claude the creative itself or its script.

The TikTok Ads connector provides the account data for this analysis.

Review Pinterest pins by saves and outbound clicks

Pinterest pin analytics can help you distinguish content people save from content that sends visitors to your website. Claude can compare impressions, saves, pin clicks and outbound clicks for the pins you select.

Review the organic analytics for these Pinterest pin IDs over the last 30 days: [IDs]. Show impressions, saves, pin clicks and outbound clicks. Compare save rate and outbound-click rate where the data supports the calculation. Suggest which topics deserve another content test and explain your reasoning.

Keep paid campaign reporting separate from organic pin reporting. A pin receiving many saves and an ad producing attributed purchases answer different marketing questions.

If website outcomes matter, use GA4 to investigate identifiable Pinterest referral traffic. Describe any attribution limits before connecting a particular pin to a conversion.

Update your marketing report in Sheets, Docs and Slides

Once you have reviewed the analysis, Claude can use SourcetoMCP to update connected reporting files.

You might keep the numbers in Google Sheets, the written commentary in Google Docs and presentation charts in Google Slides. Charts inserted into Slides as linked Sheets charts can be refreshed from their source.

Prepare the monthly report for [brand] using the agreed date range. Show me the proposed figures and commentary first, with a source for each section. After I approve, update [spreadsheet and range], replace the agreed summary in [document], and refresh the linked Sheets charts in [presentation]. Report which updates succeeded.

Specify the destination files and sections. This makes it easier to review changes and prevents a vague request such as “update my report” from leaving important choices unresolved.

These are updates you ask Claude to perform. Recurring execution requires a separate scheduling tool or agent workflow.

Start with the guides to Google Sheets, Google Docs and Google Slides.

Get more useful answers from your marketing prompts

A useful Claude marketing prompt names the account, reporting period, business goal and decision you need to make. It also specifies the output: a campaign comparison, keyword review, budget proposal or updated report.

Ask Claude to include source names, currencies, reporting dates and any missing data. When a recommendation depends on an assumption, have it state that assumption beside the recommendation.

Review the first report against the source platform. Once the figures and definitions match, reuse the prompt with the next reporting period.

Create your SourcetoMCP account, connect one marketing source and try the workflow that matches your next reporting task.
