Connect Google Ads to AI Agents

Connect Google Ads and ask about campaign, ad group and keyword performance, search terms and Quality Score, or have an agent manage campaigns, budgets and audiences across every channel type, in plain English.

What you'll need

  • A Google Ads account, or access to one through an MCC (manager account), with at least Standard or Admin user access.
  • Admin access specifically if you want an agent to make changes, not just report.

Google Ads connects through Google's own OAuth sign-in, scoped to adwords.

Connect it

Open Connectors
In your SourcetoMCP dashboard, go to Connectors and choose Add Connection, then Google Ads.
Sign in with Google
Grant SourcetoMCP access on Google's own consent screen.
Pick an account
If your access comes through an MCC, every real client account under it shows up individually, not just the MCC itself. Choose the one you want to query or manage.
Confirm
SourcetoMCP verifies access and the connection shows up as Connected in your Connectors table.

Writes are real: creating or updating campaigns, ad groups, keywords, negative keywords, audiences, product targeting for Shopping and Performance Max, and extensions. Every new campaign, audience list, or draft starts paused or empty, nothing spends until you say so. Manager-account routing is handled for you, an MCC-owned account never needs a login customer id supplied by hand.

Try it

  • "Which search terms are getting clicks but zero conversions?"
  • "What's dragging down Quality Score on our top campaigns?"
  • "Add the worst-performing search terms as negative keywords."
  • "How does our mobile bid modifier compare to desktop on our biggest campaign?"
  • "Pause any campaign spending over $50 a day with no conversions this week."
  • "Which products in our Shopping campaign are getting clicks but no sales?"
  • "Draft a copy of our Brand Search campaign so I can test a new budget without touching the live one."

Troubleshooting

SymptomLikely fix
Only the MCC shows up, not client accountsReconnect from Connectors. Manager-account discovery expands every real client account under an MCC automatically.
A write fails with a permission errorYour Google Ads user role needs Standard or Admin access on that account, Read-only access can view but not change anything.
Search terms look incomplete for a Performance Max campaignExpected. Google's own search-terms report does not include Performance Max data, ask about that campaign's overall performance instead.
