Connect Google Analytics to AI Agents

Connect Google Analytics and ask about traffic, ecommerce and audience data across your GA4 properties, or have an agent manage property configuration, custom dimensions and metrics, conversion events and audiences, in plain English.

What you'll need

  • A GA4 property, with Editor access if you want an agent to change its configuration.
  • Google Signals enabled on the property if you want age and gender in your audience reports, this data is otherwise withheld by Google.

Google Analytics connects through Google's own OAuth sign-in.

Connect it

Open Connectors
In your SourcetoMCP dashboard, go to Connectors and choose Add Connection, then Google Analytics.
Sign in with Google
Grant SourcetoMCP access on Google's own consent screen.
Pick a property
Choose the GA4 property you want to query or manage.
Confirm
The connection shows up as Connected in your Connectors table.

Writes are real: creating custom dimensions and metrics, conversion events and audiences, changing property settings, data streams and Google Signals, and linking a Google Ads account. A custom dimension, metric or audience can only be archived, not deleted, once created, so treat creating one as a real, lasting decision.

Try it

  • "How did traffic and engagement change last month compared to the month before?"
  • "Break down conversions and revenue by item this quarter."
  • "What's happening on the site right now?"
  • "Is this property linked to our Google Ads account, and if not, link it."
  • "Check whether Google Signals and data retention are actually configured on this property."

Join it with other sources

"Join Google Ads spend with Google Analytics conversions for the same campaigns last month, in one thread."

Troubleshooting

SymptomLikely fix
Age and gender are missing from an audience reportGoogle Signals needs to be enabled on the property first. Ask your agent to check and turn it on.
A write fails with a permission errorYou need Editor access on the property to change its configuration, Viewer access can only report.
A management call fails outrightReconnect from Connectors. A connection made before management was added only granted read access, and Google never expands an already-issued grant on its own.
