Connect Google Docs to AI Agents

Connect Google Docs and ask an agent to read, edit, comment on, share or export your documents, in plain English, across every tab in a multi-tab document.

What you'll need

  • A Google Doc you already have access to, or ask your agent to create a new one.
  • SourcetoMCP can't browse your whole Drive, it only ever sees documents you explicitly pick when you connect, or ones your agent creates from scratch.

Google Docs connects through Google's own OAuth sign-in.

Connect it

Open Connectors
In your SourcetoMCP dashboard, go to Connectors and choose Add Connection, then Google Docs.
Sign in with Google
Grant SourcetoMCP access on Google's own consent screen.
Choose your documents
Pick one or more files through Google's own file picker.
Confirm
The connection shows up as Connected in your Connectors table.

Writes are real: editing text, tables, headers and footers, and named ranges. Replacing text and editing a named range's content both apply across every tab in the document, not just the one you had open, other edits default to the first tab unless you tell your agent which one to use. Sharing a document with someone, or making it accessible to anyone with the link, is also real and takes effect immediately.

Try it

  • "Read this report and clean up its formatting."
  • "Build a table here from this range in our connected Sheet."
  • "Replace this quarter's numbers in the summary named range."
  • "Leave a comment flagging this paragraph for legal review."
  • "Share this doc with the team as commenters, then export it as a PDF."

Join it with other sources

"Read this range from our connected Sheet and build a table with it in this document."

Troubleshooting

Content seems to be missing from a readAsk your agent to list the document's tabs. A document can have more than one, and content lives on whichever tab you're asking about.
